My Head For A Goldfish is an italian independent band that has been delivering a challenging and instinctive approach to their music since their early days, staying faithful to a tight-to-the-bone, frantic-yet-smart post-hardcore with a lot of open room for the most disparate influences to fit in.

After their 2007 debut "Reflective", MHFAG is back in 2011 with their second record: Technicolor Yawn.

Not only this guys have written, performed, produced and recorded this album on their own, but they also managed to handle every other side of the job, starting their own label and self-releasing their music, achieving incredible results.

Technicolor Yawn breaks in nervously as drunken vocals, pounding beats, distorted bass and tortured guitar riffs collide, but this record is far more than a clash of sounds: the songs are held together by a dense and intelligent plot of hardcore and noisy breakdowns, melodic openings and primordial guitar riffs that wouldn't feel out of place in an early record by The Stooges.

The band's (self)production efforts are also noteworthy, as the band chose to opt for an essential, live-feel Steve Albini-esque sound, that is reminiscent somehow of the legendary producer's work on milestones such as Nirvana's In-Utero

A testimony of how much a band can do with a lot of work and tons of talent
